From initial sketches through to final design, we at Bear Essentials go above and beyond our moral duty to create a bespoke range of sustainable products that put the planet first.
Born in our Manchester workshop, we have spent many years finessing our products and finding the right woods for our collections. We vary our process depending on the product, but veneer wrapping and shaping is the best alternative to provide a strong and durable framework for most of our designs. Layered veneers are compressed to make a compact piece of wood that is shaped through a Press and then cut into its final form through CNC.
These frames are hand-sanded, treated and then sprayed with protective ointments to complete the process. Each pair takes approximately 240 minutes to complete from scratch and then signed off with our bear essentials engravement.
